The Stationary Set

The Stationary Set writes dynamic, catchy songs that tangle up impassioned catharsis with thoughtful self analysis. With that as a blueprint, Andrew Lutes (vocals), Josh Davis (multi-instrumentalist), Josh Hoisington (multi-instrumentalist), Gabe Kubitz (bass), and Logan Baldwin (drums) continue to develop their sound in light of influences musical and otherwise.

2010 saw The Stationary Set drawing inspiration from auspicious live performances both home and on the road. This included a BMI showcase, opening for Hot Hot Heat, and a successful west coast tour with San Diego’s Nervous Wreckards (the current project of Louis XIV’s Brian Karscig). So far, 2011 has been devoted to recording the band’s first LP, assisted by Brooklyn producer Mike Beck (Semi Precious Weapons, Neil Sedaka). Recent shows have provided a hint of what to expect from the new record: Songs that bundle a virally melodic core in layers of earnest and dexterous style.
