Whiskey Mountain Machine
Although WMM is a “new” band in certain circles, the members have been making music for a combined 20-some odd years. Keith, Corey and Donnie most recently played with the highly successful regional giant JUGGERNAUT. (Donnie for 7 years, Keith and Corey for 2 years.) Prior to that, Keith and Corey played in THE LAZY MARY BAND which enjoyed success on the honky-tonk circuit playing 70′s covers. Mitch has been playing for nearly 20 years in such acts as FATAL AGGRESSION, HOLLOWBODY and most recently GOLIATH. 
During this time the members of WHISKEY MOUNTAIN MACHINE opened for many national and regional acts such as CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, JACKYL, L.A. GUNS, CROWBAR, THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND, STUCK MOJO, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, INCUBUS, SNOT among many others…
WMM does in itself have a purpose… a mission of sorts… TO BRING THE PARTY BACK TO ROCK MUSIC! Their songs are not crafted in the vein of the depressed teenager, nor the angered 35 year old who blames his parents for everything. WMM write songs with the intent of playing music that they enjoy, all the while giving the audience permission to enjoy it without running into each other.
Their first release, “LORD HAVE MERCY,” sold 600 copies in 3 weeks and received airplay on radio stations owned by ENTERCOM and CLEAR CHANNEL. The band has been featured on local radio shows and has played throughout the American southeast while slowly building a following as a great live act.
Their second release, “ANGELS & AMMO,” was released in January 2008 and received rave reviews. It contained the LORD HAVE MERCY EP plus 5 new songs. In September 2008, Whiskey Mountain Machine released a 15-track CD entitled “TWIST THE SNAKE,” and a 2-hour DVD entitled “FOURTWOZERO.” Both releases have been hailed as innovative and sometimes insane. The 2009 follow up “SCRAP IRON” took the band in a different direction by being a more musically driven album.
In 2010 the band released “BATTLECRY,” a theme-oriented CD about revolt and freedom. All are available thru the band and online.
As well as working with the city of Spartanburg by performing at events and charities, they also perform special acoustic sets from time to time. Call it what you want: SKYNYRD meets SABBATH, HANK JR meets GODSMACK. The quest to find the balance between perfection and authenticity; homage and originality is what puts the “MACHINE” in WHISKEY MOUNTAIN MACHINE.
