Bridgid Bibbens

I tried tons of amps in every price range before I plugged into my BUGERA 6262-212, and the minute I heard it, I fell in love.  It’s an absolute beast that has made me the envy of every guy in every band I’ve played with, from pop to rock to metal.  The valves and the piezo pickups on my Viper combine to create the most rich, powerful tone.  The lead channel is INSANE!  I’m crazy about it, and I also love that it’s still a controlled, focused sound.  It’s great for shredding and squealing on heavy lead lines. When I need to scale it back a little, the crunch option on the clean channel is a dream.  The quality of this amp is unparalleled on every level – I can’t imagine taking the stage with anything else! — Bridgid Bibbens

Violinist Bridgid Bibbens is a classically-trained violinist who has recently discovered how much fun it is to cross over to the “dark side”.  She has performed with major artists in the rock, pop and jazz worlds, such as Christina Aguilera, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Gilby Clarke (Guns ‘N’ Roses), Johnny Colt (the Black Crowes), Mary J Blige, Jay-Z, John Mayer, Alicia Keys, Josh Groban, Harry Connick, Jr. and Frank Sinatra, Jr. Television appearances include NBC’s Today Show, the CBS Early Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, and a special broadcast for New York City’s PBS affiliate.  She’s played to sold-out audiences in Madison Square Garden and Boston’s Banknorth Garden. She’s also performed with Mark Wood and the Mark Wood Experience on numerous occasions, including a video for PBS and a performance at the 2008, 2009 and 2010 NAMM shows in Anaheim, CA.

Bridgid plays a wide array of both acoustic and electric violins. Her weapon of choice is her custom made 7-string fretted Viper, made by  Wood Violins.  By running it through any number of effects boxes, she likes to think she can do anything a guitar can do – but better!

Bridgid joined the staff of Mark Wood Music Productions and Wood Violins in August 2007 and has been trained by Mark Wood in his groundbreaking educational methods in conjunction with his “Electrify Your Strings!” series of music education programs.  She now travels the country with her Viper, sharing her passion for music of all genres with orchestra students in public schools all over the the country. After starting violin lessons at the tender age of 3, Bridgid received a full scholarship from Syracuse University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in violin and oboe performance and her master’s degree in music education. In the role of educator, Bridgid has directed public school orchestra programs in upstate New York and Boston, MA for over 10 years. Her students have consistently performed at the highest level in state competitions and solo festivals. Her orchestras have been invited to perform in such prestigious venues as Boston’s Symphony Hall and the Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria. Her students performed in the same hall where a young Mozart premiered his opera The Impresario.

Currently living in New York City (Brooklyn, to be exact), Bridgid also enjoys snowboarding, yoga, working out, and exploring the ins and outs of what she considers to be the greatest city in the world.
